CBS Films is going to Hellfest, snapping up feature rights to William Penick and Chris Sey’s horror screenplay and setting it up with Gale Anne Hurd at her Valhalla Entertainment banner, Variety reports.
Hurd (“The Walking Dead,” The Terminator) developed the project. Penick and Sey wrote the script from a concept by Valhalla’s Ben Roberts, who will exec producer.
“Story centers on a Halloween night of fun turning deadly at America’s premier theme park when an actual costumed killer begins slaying unsuspecting patrons who believe it’s all part of the show.”
Vice President of Production Mark Ross and Creative Executive Alex Ginno are overseeing the project for CBS Films.
