Lionsgate has spread the blood on the walls of theaters as they’ve unveiled their official one-sheet for their R-rated supernatural spooker Sinister, which opens in theaters October 5. Both the motion poster and standard art carry the above tagline and display a girl spreading blood across a wall. In the blood, a tease of the entity known as “Mr. Boogie.”
Sinister is a frightening new thriller from the producer of the Paranormal Activity films and Scott Derrickson, the writer-director of The Exorcism of Emily Rose. “Ethan Hawke plays a true crime novelist who discovers a box of mysterious, disturbing home movies that plunge his family into a nightmarish experience of supernatural horror.”
I caught the film as a surprise screening at this past March’s SXSW. While I wasn’t a huge fan, it’s still pretty f*cking scary.
