waynestaticbanner

Wayne Static is no stranger to extreme. Static-X has been punishing listeners ever since their debut release Wisconsin Death Trip (review) and Pighammer is required listening for any horror fan. And now the enigmatic and iconic singer has put together a list of his Top 10 Sci-Fi/Horror films for Bloody-Disgusting! Check out the full list below.

Static-X is currently touring with Prong and Davey Suicide (exclusive). Tour dates are below.

1. “Event Horizon” I am scared to even talk about this film!

2. “They Live” Parts of this film inspired the photo shoot I did for the Machine CD. There are secret messages everywhere!

3. “Lifeforce” Naked female vampire and Patrick Stewart both in the same film. How could you go wrong?

4. “The Fly” Jeff Goldblum really can act, who knew?

5. “The Thing” (John Carpenter version from 1982) I love when the dude’s head sprouts spider legs and crawls away. I used to draw pictures of that creature on all my school folders when I was a kid.

6. “Alien” My favorite part is when the cute baby alien busts out of the dude’s stomach.

7. “The Fourth Kind” I’m not sure whether I believe in alien abductions, but this movie makes a good case for it.

8. “Donnie Darko” I am a firm believer in alternate dimensions. This is the type of film you can watch over and over and every time you see new details.

9. “Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon” This movie starts out as a documentary, turns into a comedy, and then ends up being a suspenseful thriller.

10. “1408” I have always thought hotel rooms are scary places. You never know who has been there before you or what has happened in that room. This movie plays into that fear.

Gawd, that hair. Good flicks tho.

  • Lonmonster

Why have I never heard of Lifeforce, it sounds amazing. Top of the watch pile.

  • Joeman

Behind the Mask? The Fourth Kind? 1408? Those aren’t bad movies, but the fact that they’re in his top 10 tells me he doesn’t know horror movies. There’s so many better horror movies.

    • Jonathan Barkan

Behind The Mask was actually a very clever, very funny movie. I’d actually say that it was more intelligent and witty than Scream.
I haven’t seen The Fourth Kind, so I can’t comment on that. However, I know that a TON of people love 1408.
Also, he might know horror movies REALLY well but these have significance for him. Just because a horror movie is great doesn’t make it a personal favorite ;)

This guy is such a tool.

is he upside down in those pics?
