Beyond the break you’ll find the latest Halloween II TV Spot from Dimension Films entitled “Fight”, you can take a look at some behind-the-scenes images from Robert Rodriguez’s now-filming Machete, and then take a gander at an interesting article where Jackie Earle Haley talks about Freddy’s “Scottish” accent. Talk about ‘em below.FREDDY EQUIPT WITH A SCOTTISH ACCENT?
Updated: B D reader Brad writes in, “Brad Fuller tweeted me back on the scottish accent and said “that is ridiculous”. Just fyi.”
BD reader ‘Max Power’ (isn’t that Homer Simpson’s new name in that one episode?) just hit us up with the following link to the Daily Mail who has been known for breaking bullsh*t stories and attempting to be TMZ-like. The article focuses on a supposed interview with Haley, who plays the new Freddy Krueger in the forthcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street remake, where he talks about how he turned Freddy “scottish”.
“I thought it would be really interesting to give Freddy a Scottish accent and I think it works. It’s a scary process trying to step into the shoes of Robert Englund,” he tells the site. “It was important to keep the qualities that fans are familiar with – such as the sweater, the hat and the glove – but yet, also to try to find a freshness and a newness to this re-envisioning.”
The site also reports that Producers of the new film are playing down the claims of a Scots Freddy, although they give no source for the quotes and or statements. Good reporting fellas. Take this news for what it’s worth. Elm Street returns to theaters on April 30, 2010.
TACOS ON SET OF MACHETE
BD reader ‘Dania’ hit us up with the following link to dig on a few dozen behind-the-scenes photos from the now-filming Machete, which is behind camera in Austin, Texas with Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Robert De Niro, Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, Cheech Marin, Don Johnson and Jeff Fahey all starring.
The feature version of the trailer finds Machete (Trejo) a renegade former Mexican Federale, roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (De Niro) a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of Luz (Rodriguez), a saucy taco slinger, Padre (Marin) his “holy” brother, and April (Lohan) a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.
