Director Scott Derrickson (Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Day The Earth Stood Still) has added Olivia Munn (pictured above; “Newsroom”) and Edgar Ramirez (The Bourne Ultimatum) to the cast of his paranormal police thriller, Beware the Night, per Deadline. They join the previously cast Eric Bana (who boarded the film in November). Derrickson co-wrote the rewrite with Paul Boardman and the film will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Films.
“The story is set in a paranormal world and follows a New York police officer investigating real life demon possessions, exorcisms and werewolves after dark.”
In the film, “Bana plays an Irish Catholic cop working a case when he meets a renegade priest. Despite the cop’s beliefs, he’s convinced by the priest that there is a demonic element and together they work to solve the case and combat the paranormal forces working against them. Ramirez plays the priest. Munn plays the cop’s wife, who also has a tie to the case.”
Beware The Night starts shooting May 20th in the Bronx. Sounds good to me!
