New Teaser Unmasks ‘Call Of Duty: Ghosts’

Activision has been quietly teasing the next entry in their annual Call of Duty franchise, and now we finally know a little more about it. The game is Call of Duty: Ghosts, and it’s back in the hands of Modern Warfare series developer Infinity Ward. The game will follow soldiers who shoot bad people, only this time, the good guys are masked.

Lay down your pitchforks Call of Duty fans, I’m only joking. This one actually sounds promising, since they’re finally using a new engine that will bring the experience to current and next-gen consoles. “We’re building a new sub-brand, a new engine, and a lot of new ideas and experiences for our players.” said Mark Rubin, the studio’s executive producer. Check out the live-action teaser after the break.

‘The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’ Review: An Apocalypse Not Worth Surviving

Like many of you, I’ve been skeptical since the beginning. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’s marketing campaign has been a rocky one, after being soured by a series of disappointing trailers — both fake and official — screenshots, and an obvious push by Activision to get the game out during the third season of the television series. It didn’t help that the game was quietly crammed into the very busy march lineup, almost as if Activision realized the game wouldn’t live up to expectations so they let it die in the shadow of several of this year’s more high profile releases.

I won’t bury the lead: this game isn’t good. If you’re interested in finding out just how bad it is, I suggest reading on.

‘The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’ Is Out Today, Let’s Prepare With A Launch Trailer

Not content to let it fly completely under the radar, Activision released a launch trailer for The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct today. It follows Daryl as he searches for his older brother Merle. TJ received his copy earlier today, so I’m waiting to hear back from him on how it stacks up. Neither of us were terribly impressed with everything that was shown prior to the game’s release, but I still have some hope left that it’ll be a solidly entertaining game. Check out the new trailer after the break.

Go Behind The Scenes With ‘The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’

The bar for games based on The Walking Dead has been set pretty high, and Survival Instinct’s tumultuous marketing campaign hasn’t impressed TJ or I in our premature evaluation of the game. That doesn’t mean it won’t be good, there’s still every chance it could surprise us all and end up being a fantastic game. One thing’s for certain — we’ll be finding out very soon. Head past the break for a behind the scenes look at The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.

[Premature Evaluation] ‘The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’

Zombies are big right now. Much like a real zombie apocalypse scenario, there’s no escaping them. They’ve shambled onto pretty much every facet of entertainment, and one of the brands that’s leading the undead hordes is The Walking Dead. So far, TWD has seen quite a bit of success in its transition from comics to television and video games, the latter of which has been led by Telltale Games’ amazing episodic adventure series and even a surprisingly great Facebook game based on the series.

Next up is The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, a prequel to to the TV series that follows brothers Daryl and Merle Dixon. It’s had an alarmingly rocky marketing campaign, and with the comics, TV series, and games having set the bar so high, many fans are wondering if this is going to be a solid entry in the franchise or an obvious cash-in. TJ and I ask ourselves this very question, and others, in our premature evaluation of the game, which you can read after the jump.

Here’s The First Official Trailer For ‘The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’

The unveiling of Terminal Reality’s take on the Walking Dead franchise has been a tumultuous one. It started with a fan-made trailer that had ugly footage from an early build of the game, but Activision only made matters worse with that laughable “official” trailer that did nothing to remedy the situation. It took a while, but they’re finally taking a step in the right direction with a real, polished trailer that shows current gameplay and teases some of the story. I wouldn’t go as far as to call it a particularly memorable trailer, but I’ll let you watch it so you can decide for yourself.

New ‘Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’ Screens Will Leave You Wanting More. A Lot More.

I shouldn’t be picky about a Walking Dead game. But do I feel like it should look better? Yeah a little. I mean we’re talking about Activision. They’ve got that Call Of Duty money. But technically if they can bank off of Call Of Duty without making those graphics as amazing as say Battlefield, then why can’t they do it with this new Walking Dead Survival Instinct? Head past the break for some screens and game features.

‘The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’ Will Release The Same Day As ‘Army Of Two’ And ‘BioShock Infinite’

It would seem Activision and Terminal Reality’s The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is further along than I would’ve expected. The game’s release date was announced today via a brief video — you can watch it below — that stars brothers Daryl and Merle Dixon. I hope you’ve been saving up, because the already crowded month of March just got even busier. Survival Instinct will release on March 26th, a week after Gears of War: Judgment and the same day as Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel and BioShock Infinite. You probably can’t hear it where you are, but my wallet is weeping right now.

Remember That Trailer For ‘The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’? Yep, That’s A Fake

It would seem I have been duped. If you remember that bland looking trailer that was “officially” released to promote Activision’s upcoming game The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, it has been confirmed by Dan Amrich, Activision’s social media manager, to be from an early build of the game. It is gameplay that was taken from the actual game, but it was from a preview build that wasn’t meant to be used as promotional material. Good thing, too. Hopefully it’ll blow us all away when the real trailer is revealed.

Here’s A ‘The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’ Gameplay Trailer, Now With Eerie Music!

In case you missed the first The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct gameplay footage that made its debut last week, now it’s been compiled together and set to some eerie background music, which sounds a lot like John Murphy’s amazing score for 28 Days Later, by the way. I didn’t notice it the first time I watched this gameplay, but those zombies look like dolls. The plastic hair, stone faces, the way they move… if this trailer is supposed to give us a taste of how the game will look, I’m a little worried. Check it out after the jump.

First Gameplay Footage From ‘The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’ Surfaces

Now that the first season of Telltale Games’ emotional take on The Walking Dead has ended, you may be wondering where you’re going to get your zombie-hunting fix. If you’re jonesing for more of that delicious undead action that only TWD can deliver, you should definitely keep an eye on The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. Whereas Telltale’s series was its own thing within the TWD universe, Survival Instinct is a prequel to the TV series and follows brothers Daryl and Merle before they met up with Rick and his gang. Terminal Reality’s Glenn Gamble was kind enough to debut some gameplay footage on IGN’s Up At Noon web series. Check it out after the break.

Dixon Brothers Join Activision’s ‘The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct’

If you’re a fan of AMC’s The Walking Dead, then you’re about to get a lot happier about Activision’s upcoming take on the increasingly popular brand. Two of my favorite characters from the TV series are Daryl and Merle Dixon (played by Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker, respectively), and now it’s been confirmed the duo will be lending their voices to The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, which will be a video game prequel to the TV series. It will follow the brothers as they struggle to survive before their eventual meet-up with the survivors seen in season one of the television series. I have to say, I’m way more interested in this game now. How about you?

Activision Cleans Up By Saying Goodbye To Guitar Hero Among Others

In case you live under a rock and haven’t yet heard the extra large news surrounding Activision, they decided to trim the hell out of their hedges. Cheesy analogy I know, but I can only assume there have been many more flying around the internet in relation to this news. Activision is getting smart, and decided to completely stop production on many of their once incredibly profitable games.

Black Activision Activision Cleans Up By Saying Goodbye To Guitar Hero Among Others

Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, True Crime, and Tony Hawk will not be seeing the light of day again. While it does suck to see a game like Guitar Hero, which made way for the infinitely better Rock Band go under, it’s good they are ending it now. Rather than waste millions making games that aren’t performing Activision decided to pull the plug. Past the break for more. READ MORE
