Fanboys Vs. Zombies has been consistently been filled with hilarious, action-packed zombie killing month after month. Writer Shane Houghton and artist Jerry Gaylord found a clever way to explore geek culture inside the confines of the zombie apocalypse. ‘Fanboys Vs. Zombies’ is a lighthearted gore-fest that will delight horror lovers who can appreciate the dark comedic sensibilities of films like Army of Darkness, where the hero can throw a punch, tell a joke, and kiss the girl all in the same scene.

Digital comics distributor ComiXology has a giant sale on ‘Fanboys Vs. Zombies’ this weekend, with every issue of the series available for 0.99 cents. To celebrate the sale, BOOM Studios gave Bloody-Disgusting readers an exclusive free digital copy issue #1 as a gateway drug into the series.

Hell. Yes. While Frank Miller has made some more than questionable statements in recent years, you’d have to be insane to not want more RoboCop. Boom! Studios just sent out a visual press release, which affirms Miller is back on board with “RoboCop” alongside Steven Grant, Korkut Öztekin, and Declan Shalvey. No details are available as of yet on the series, but the book is expected to launch sometime in August, 2013. Stay out of trouble. READ MORE

Clive Barker’s new comic series, Next Testament, is set to begin on May 29th. This is the first universe that Barker has developed for strictly for comics. The series follows a business leader who believes he receives a message from god. While not much is known about the series, the real question is, which god is it? Brandon Seifert has become a big name in horror comics in just a few years. After the success of Seifert’s first series, “Witch Doctor”, from Image comics in 2010, he began collaborating with horror legend Clive Barker as the co-writer for the current ongoing “Hellraiser” comic series. In addition, he’s also written issues of “Dr. Who” for IDW, and he recently launched a new mini-series, “Spirit of the Law” at Monkey Brain.

Originally titled “New Genesis”, Clive Barker was asked to change the name of the series due to some legal issues with DC Comics. Boom! Studios has released further details on what is now being called “Next Testament”. This is the first original comic series created by Clive Barker (though he’s worked on “Hellraiser” comics and other titles for a while now). The series follows Julian Demond who encounters Wick, a self-proclaimed God. The two venture out into the world on a divine mission to create chaos. The first issue hits in May. READ MORE

The solicits for Aliens vs Parker series have been comparing the story to the likes of Shaun of the Dead and Galaxy Quest. While this claim may seem bold at first, I’m happy to report that it holds up. Paul Scheer & Nicholas Giovannetti continue their story of bumbling space postmen in this excellent genre homage. “Aliens vs Parker” # 2 is packed to the brim with both depth and comedy. READ MORE

Boom! Studios announces a new project from Eisner Award-nominated author Mike Carey (“X-Men”, “The Unwritten”) and artist Elena Casagrande. Suicide Risk sees super-powered humans popping up across the globe, and most of them are using their powers for evil. Humanity is on the brink of destruction and police officer Leo Winters is one of the only good guys left.

We recently announced the coming of Boom! Studios new comic series from Clive Barker, intended to be called New Genesis (article here). Apparently this knotted the panties of the folks at DC because New Genesis is the name of the planet of the New Gods in the DCU. However, it’s important to note that the term “New Genesis” has apparently not been trademarked, says Bleeding Cool.

Clive Barker has a brand new original comic series coming out from BOOM! Studios that imagines God returning to Earth. Though Barker has written many comics, New Genesis is his first original comic story. The series is co-created by Mark Miller, who describes the series saying, “if God were to come back and tell you how we all got it wrong and what everything really meant.”
