Red Faction: Armageddon Slips A Week, Makes June Look Even Better

Now, don’t go taking a hammer to the nearest wall but Red Faction: Armageddon has indeed been delayed. But fear not, while F.3.A.R.’s recent delay will make us wait another month, Armageddon is only getting pushed back a month. Maybe they’re afraid L.A. Noire will horde all the attention? Or perhaps they simply need more time for some last second spit and polish. Either way, June just keeps looking better.

12 Red Faction: Armageddon Slips A Week, Makes June Look Even Better

The game’s demo is still on track for its May 3rd release and for the less mathematically inclined the new release dates are as follows: June 7th in the US and for everyone else you can expect it on June 10th. With Armageddon, Alice: Madness Returns (6/14), Shadows of the Damned (6/21), F.3.A.R. (6/24) and E3 (6/7-9), June has become one of the most exciting months of the year. READ MORE

Red Faction Demo Demolishes, Then Rebuilds XBLA & PSN May 3rd

The followup to one of my favorite games of 2009, Red Faction: Guerilla, is borrowing a little from the horror genre as it goes under the surface of Mars. From what we’ve seen of the game so far Armageddon looks to be shaping up quite nicely, and while I don’t know about you, I’m all for mixing a little Dead Space into my Red Faction mix. The game releases for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on May 31st for those of us in The States, June 2nd for the Aussies and a day later in the UK.

1 Red Faction Demo Demolishes, Then Rebuilds XBLA & PSN May 3rd

For the unfamiliar, Armageddon takes place on Mars five years after the events in Guerrilla. Unfortunately, the destruction of the Terraformer that kept Mars nice and sunny left its surface uninhabitable, forcing the colonists to burrow deep underground, kind of like Zerglings trying to escape a Siege Tank’s fire. Yeah, I just went full-on nerd there. Anyway, the colonists end up digging too deep unleashing an ancient race of scary bug aliens that look like the long lost cousins of the Reapers in Resident Evil 5 and all hell breaks loose. Fortunately, you play as Darius Mason, grandson of Alec (the main dude from the last game) and he’s totally equipped to kick tons of alien ass. READ MORE

In the demo, players will venture through the game’s prologue, choosing from three different character classes. They’ll also learn more about Hawke and hone their skills and abilities that will make them the ultimate hero. You Haven’t Got Caught In The Bulletstorm Downpour?

The 25th was a big day. Dead Space 2 was released, and has taken over most gamers lives. But for those holding out, and out of money the Bulletstorm demo will have to do. If you haven’t downloaded it, I at least recommend you give it a shot. There is a lot of brutal gore and ass kicking goodness that hits a level most games wont even go near.

After playing the demo, I had a great time, I only wish I could have tried with a friend. Screens from the demo past the break, the game releases February 22nd for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. READ MORE

First Impressions from the Dead Space 2 Demo

Thanks to EA we were given access to their multiplayer beta a few months back and I feel it’s safe to say that while it’s certainly not perfect, the soldiers versus Necromorphs multiplayer is far more than a last minute add-on. TJ was left with a “hmm, eh, well alright” feeling while I left with a surprisingly strong love for what I was able to see in the limited beta.

15 First Impressions from the Dead Space 2 Demo

You should know, assuming you don’t already, that the demo for Dead Space 2 is out now and it shows off a bit of the game’s single-player side. You should also know my Xbox 360 measured it at a solid 1.23 GB so if your internet is as slow as mine I recommend clearing some time on your undoubtedly busy schedule to slap that thing on your hard drive. Go ahead and do that now, don’t worry about me, I can wait. Done? Well that was quick, now let’s talk about it. READ MORE

Headlines in Horror: Dead Space 2 Demo! New Batman Arkham City Trailer! Tomb Raider Takes On Horror!

Don’t let the upcoming merry Christmas shenanigans bring you down because I’m here to spread horror cheer like Malaria! While most “normal” people are walking around spreading overrated things like charity and joy, I’ve made it my goal to use this time of year to celebrate the important things. Things like scary movies, terrifying games and Halloween decorations in lieu of the more “traditional” Christmas decor. And yes, my neighbors absolutely despise me.

So why don’t you grab a sippy cup filled with chocolate milk, take a seat and celebrate with me, because after the break we have a lot to be happy about. I don’t want to give too much away but let’s just say our favorite tomb raiding chick might be taking on the survival horror genre, and a demo for a certain strategic dismembering game will have a demo out later this month. REVIEW: ‘DEMO’ #2-Pangs

At times it is tough to decide what is horror and what isn’t with so many titles “claiming” to be the scariest thing on the shelf, but very rarely do they ever deliver. To me a real horror story doesn’t seek to gross you out or make you have to turn your head in disgust, but one that grabs at something inside of you and twists it like a knife in the gut. If a story is an inherently human one then I can guarantee it will have my full attention. And that is why when I was told to check out the newest issue of Brian Wood’s (“DMZ”) “DEMO” titled “PANGS” by my buddy Mark, who swore up and down that I would “love the damn thing”, I decided to give the book a shot. I was promised a very dark, unnerving, and intimate look into the life of a cannibal, but not the type of cannibal you’d expect to find in a Wes Craven film…I wasn’t disappointed. Read on for the full review.

Have You Heard The New KoRn Song? Listen to ‘My Time’ Now

A demo track/video featuring the song “My Time” and KoRn in the studio seems to have been floating around the internet for a while, our friends at SMNnews posted a youtube copy and now recently we were sent this video from an anonymous user.   It sort of oozes the old school dissonant noisy KoRn that some of you probably punched holes in your bedroom wall to after your parents took away your Super Nintendo, but I’m not sure Jonathan Davis is still angsty enough to pull it off.  Read on to take a listen and let us know what you think.

KoRn will be playing the main stage at this years Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival alongside Rob Zombie, Lamb of God, and Five Finger Death Punch. READ MORE
