McFarlane’s “Stranger Things” Action Figures are Incredible
As much as I’m loving all of Funko’s “Stranger Things” toys, the cute and cuddly thing will never be as cool to me as serious action figures. That’s why I’m so happy that McFarlane Toys picked up the license for a line of 7″ figures, being previewed at Comic-Con this week.
The official McFarlane website shared a couple images of the toys from the convention floor tonight, giving us our first look at the Chief Hopper and Eleven prototypes.
McFarlane’s “Stranger Things” action figures will feature various characters from the series, in 7-inch and 10-inch scale, with the initial wave featuring Eleven and Chief Jim Hopper. The figures will have 12+ points of articulation and come with iconic accessories associated with the corresponding character.
Eleven stands about 5-inches tall, is sculpted from images of actress Millie Bobby Brown, and comes with removable blonde wig, radio, and waffle. Eleven is featured in dress and jacket outfit. Chief Hopper is sculpted from images of actor David Harbour and comes with a removable Sheriff’s hat, pistol, and coffee mug. The figure is featured in sheriff’s outfit worn by Chief Hopper.
Each figure will be featured in retro style packaging.
Look for these in the Fall.
While you wait for Alien: Romulus, the folks over at Devilworks have cooked up their own slice of “mockbuster” fun with Alien Hunt, and we’re debuting the trailer here on BD this morning.
This brand-new sci-fi horror from director Aaron Mirtes (The Bigfoot Trap, Painted in Blood) is set for its US premiere on May 14, and you can find it on digital thanks to Devilworks.
You can exclusively watch the official trailer for Alien Hunt below, which looks to combine elements of Alien and Predator. This particular “mockbuster” has very little interest in hiding its inspirations, with the alien designs plucked straight out of H.R. Giger’s beautiful brain. Hey, if you’re going to pull from other movies, might as well take from the all-time greats!
In Alien Hunt, “On a hunting trip in the wilderness, a group of siblings discovers an abandoned military outpost on their land, but is it what it seems?
“Their trip takes a sinister turn when they find themselves facing off against a relentless army of extra-terrestrial beings. Suddenly, the hunters become the hunted.
