Netflix’s “Stranger Things” Season 2 Trailer Goes From Nostalgia to Nightmare! #SDCC

Is this one of the best trailers ever or is using Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” cheating?

Netflix has just released the full trailer for “Stranger Things”, returning for a second season on October 27.

The trailer, shown to a packed San Diego Comic-Con crowd, goes from nostalgia to nightmare in an instant. Finn Wolfhard recently teased that Season 2 will be darker” and “more horror oriented than the first one, and damn he wasn’t kidding. An enormous and terrifying looking new monster is arriving in the town of Hawkins this coming season, which is set just about one year after the events of Season 1. The trailer plays to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” with the great Vincent Price narrating. The Halloween-theme gives so much vibrancy and life to the footage that’s already jam-packed with nods to our childhood (I need to know what’s in the Ghostbusters trap). It’s complete sensory overload.

The biggest tease, however, is that the Demogorgon allegedly has a motive. Oh, and Eleven, well, she’s back! WATCH!

It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.

Confirmed for the second season are Paul Reiser, Brett Gelman, Linnea Berthelsen, Dacre Montgomery, Will Chase, Rob Morgan, and Sadie Sink. They join the returning Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, and Charlie Heaton.
