Netflix shared a new trailer for the second season of “Stranger Things”, arriving in Hawkins on October 27. While the one out of the San Diego Comic-Con was more of a celebration, set to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, this final trailer is dark, gloomy, and dwarfed by the enormity of the new Shadow Monster. I see a lot of James Cameron’s Aliens in the footage, which I’m guessing begins when Will vomits up something in the final seconds of Season One. It also harkens back to films like Goonies and Dream Warriors. There’s no sign of the demogorgon, but Eleven is back and eating her Eggos…
“It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.”
The cast includes Paul Reiser, Brett Gelman, Linnea Berthelsen, Dacre Montgomery, Will Chase, Rob Morgan, and Sadie Sink. They join the returning Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, and Charlie Heaton.
