You knew this was going to be on here. I mean, how could it not? John Carpenter took a film and ended up creating something that is both iconic and timeless. From the stellar practical FX work to the haunting score by Ennio Morricone, from the frigid locations to the spine chilling sound design, this movie has become a horror staple and for all the right reasons. Few horror movies have ever reached this level and I don’t know how many more ever will. Think about it, one of the very best horror movies ever released is a remake.
