American McGee’s Alice
When I heard that Tim Burton was going to be directing an Alice In Wonderland film, I became unbelievably excited. But then I saw the trailers and that excitement quickly turned into disappointment. Then again, should I have been excited in the first place?
The story of Alice Liddell can easily be seen as lighthearted and fun or, and this is how I prefer to see it, it can be viewed as a phantasmagoria, a series of twisted events, one after another. I want a movie like that, one with gorgeous, breathtaking, entirely unbelievable scenery that makes me feel like I’m truly in another world (just look at this gallery from Alice: Madness Returns and tell me you wouldn’t want to see that in a movie).
I feel like a dark, twisted, surreal adaptation of Alice In Wonderland would be something truly incredible and unique.
