2. Leprechaun: Origins (Lionsgate)

I really don’t understand what WWE Studios is doing. I appreciate that they’re leveraging their fan base to deliver films, but to pretend they understand horror is starting to drive me crazy. After years of failures (in quality, I have no idea as to their financial state), it’s shocking they haven’t quit the horror biz, or at least hired someone with real ability. Leprechaun: Origins is wrong for about a trillion reasons, and truly does show that the company doesn’t get it. The mere fact that they attempted to make a Texas Chainsaw Massacre flick with Lep says it all. While it’s a visually appealing movie, it’s not that gory, and is a zero on a fun scale. As I stated in my review, Origins is the worst kind of horror movie – one that’s so generic and mundane that it’s nearly impossible to not turn off.
