Alice Cooper – Trash
The king of Shock Rock before Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper is another artist I’ve loved for his writing, as well as his inclusion of horror in his shows. The man still rocks out, and while he’s nowhere near the popularity he once was, can still hang with the best. Poison is Cooper’s last real big worldwide hit (so far). It’s not Billion Dollar Babies or School’s Out, but this ballad is still a treat to hear, mixed with excellent guitar work by Kane Roberts, Cooper’s growling vocals and wonderful lyrics. The video (there’s two versions, the alternate version features more than a little bare flesh) is classic 80s hard rock affair, which is fine by me.
