Darkness
I never saw this movie in theaters, which I hear is a good thing. Apparently the theatrical cut is a total mess and should be avoided at all costs. However, I bought the Director’s Cut at a sale at Hollywood Video (showing my age here) for something like $2. And to say that I’m happy with that is a total understatement.
What makes this movie so cool is how it basically becomes Silent Hill in the last 15 minutes. It’s crazy, it’s creepy, and it’s stuck with me for a while. But with the way the movie ends, I found myself wanting more. I want to know what happens next in this “dark world”. I think it could be incredibly fascinating to see a movie that tackles humanity’s next steps at surviving.
