Dead Silence
Instead of going forward and seeing what the dolls are up to post-Jamie, I want to go the other route entirely and head back to the time of Mary Shaw and the murder she was accused of. Turn it into a film noir-esque horror mystery about who “killed” the little boy that went missing and then, in the finale, reveal the boy showing up after the death of Mary Shaw so that the movie culminates on a sad, “What have we done?” note.
Then, the last shot is of Billy the puppet’s face on as the camera slowly zooms in. The screen goes to black as he blinks and the poem of Mary Shaw is recited by a ghostly sounding child before the credits roll.
I’ll take my check any time now.
