4. The Green Inferno
The Green Inferno has not exactly has the warmest reception. It’s not surprising, especially after being delayed for nearly two years. The film was never going to live up to early festival hype, but it has earned a lot of vitriol from critics and commenters. Personally, I think the film is fine. It’s not a great film, but its far from being the atrocity everyone is saying it is. The most valid complaints against the film are that it’s a little tame (it peaks with a character’s death at the midway point of the film) and it takes way too long to make it too the jungle. The second half of The Green Inferno is still a lot of fun. It is not Roth’s strongest effort, but it’s far from terrible.
