The Tale of The Lonely Ghost
I think it’s safe to say that this episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark cemented my love for hauntings. While her parents are away, Amanda is forced to stay with her aunt and horrible cousin Beth. Amanda is a shy kid and wants nothing more than to have a friend so when Beth dares her to stay in the abandoned house next door she does, hoping it will up her cred. Instead, she discovers a very real ghost of a little girl and that’s when things get scary. The ghost-girl is trapped in the house and sends eerie messages through the wall which results in “Help me” being written backwards and if The Shining taught us anything it’s that words are ten times scarier backwards.
