The Tale of the Frozen Ghost
Spoiled rich kid Charles Pemberton-Shilling III and his babysitter Daphne are sent out to the country during the coldest winter of the year to stay with Charlie’s two aunts while his parents are out of town for a wedding. After settling in the aunts tell Charlie and Daphne about a notorious bank robber who was caught in the woods not too far from their house years ago. When he was caught he was put on a train that would later crash and kill all of the passengers.
Charlie starts to have dreams of a boy and sees a man ripping a red jacket from him. Finally after several nights of hearing an eerie whisper saying “I’m cold,” they both come face to face with the child ghost in the woods. As it turns out the robber stole the jacket from the boy and locked him away where he froze to death (you know, for kids!). Charlie gives the boy his jacket back and learns a lesson about not being a little rich douchebag and everyone lives happily ever after. Well, except that dead kid.
The mere utterance of “I’m cold” brings out vivid memories of this episode that I’ve never forgotten.
