Halloween Vs. Halloween

It’s that time of year again where horror fans (and even some non-horror fans) go back and watch their favorite horror movies to help put them in the Halloween spirit. After reading about how many people actually love Rob Zombie’s Halloween remake from 2007, I decided to give it a re-watch with some fresh eyes (I hadn’t seen it since I saw it in theaters when it was released) to see if time had changed my opinion on the film. After watching that, I popped in John Carpenter’s original and re-watched that. Both films seem to be a point of contention with viewers. I was shocked to find out that many people find Carpenter’s original film boring and uninteresting. I wanted to see if my love for the original clouded my initial judgment of Zombie’s remake, so that curiosity is how this post came to fruition. Let’s just dive right in.
