8. The Vincent Price Collection (Shock/Cinema Cult)
Coming in at 8 is the first entry that isn’t an US release in the form of The Vincent Price Collection from Cinema Cult out of Australia. This region B release features 9 films (The Abominable Dr Phibes, Dr. Phibes Rises Again, Witchfinder General, Tomb Of Ligeia, The Haunted Palace, House Of Usher, House On Haunted Hill, Masque Of The Red Death, The Last Man On Earth) from the master of the macabre, Vincent Price. The timing of this release couldn’t have been better as it was announced shortly after Scream Factory’s first Vincent Price set went OOP. 5 of the 6 films included on that Scream Factory release are available here. You have to be region free of course, but if you missed out on the Scream Factory release this is a great alternate.
There aren’t any special features or any bonus content, which is a bit of a bummer. Cinema Cult really could have made this set something else with a little extra content, but at the end of the day it’s still a great release. You get 9 films from one of the great horror icons on Blu-ray at a really good price and you really can’t beat that.
