Piranha – Piranha
I’m referring more so to the piranhas in Joe Dante’s original film than Alexandre Aja’s remake (though those are pretty cool too). While both movies are horror comedies, there’s just something a lot scarier about the piranhas in Dante’s film. The scene that does me in is the part where the son watches his father get eaten from the top (bottom?) of the capsized canoe. I know the film has a playful vibe to it but this scene is just brutal. Those fish are scary!
