Annabelle (The Conjuring & Annabelle)
By putting making a gargoyle-like demon the center of the film, Annabelle missed the point of what made the doll so scary. Her presence is enough to instill fear, and minimalism is key. James Wan understood that, which is why her scenes in The Conjuring are so effective. Seriously though, who would ever buy this doll? The actual doll is much less scary.
