5 Quietly Awesome Moments in ‘Resident Evil’

Leon Sees Something – Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil 2 was an incredibly successful sequel. Its job was to be a sequel, and boy, did it do that. It sequel’d so hard we genuinely don’t know if it’s better or worse than Resident Evil 4, and that’s a game that successfully rebooted a massively successful franchise and created its own genre while changing the course of another. We don’t know if it’s better or worse than that. You might think you know, and that’s fine, but most of us are still pretty divided about it.

Picking the ‘right’ moment was tough, but for me, it can be found when Leon “Graham Cracker” Kennedy is exploring the seemingly abandoned Raccoon City Police Department. He’s minding his own business when something moves outside a nearby window. It comes and goes quickly enough to make you question whether or not it really happened, and it turns out that’s a startlingly effective way to introduce the iconic creature.
