David Romero has quickly become one of my favorite follows on Twitter (@CinemamindDavid), instantly winning me over with his creepy takes on the ghosts from Thirteen Ghosts and the dinosaurs from Jurassic Park. Romero regularly shares his haunting artwork on Twitter, and his drawings of Jason Voorhees damn sure deserve a spotlight of their own.
Shared through Twitter, Romero has recently imagined young Jason, sack-head Jason and hockey mask Jason in his own style, and the results are quite chilling across the board. As Romero notes – and I agree with him on this – “Sack head Jason is spookiest Jason,” and his drawing of Part 2‘s iteration of the slasher icon indeed does justice to the creepy 1981 look.
There’s just something about that one bulging eyeball that sends chills up the spine, eh?
Romero’s take on “Young Jason” is equally unsettling, as he shows the ghostly child standing alone in the woods at night. That piece is contrasted with adult Jason in all his iconic glory.
