Before Scott Derrickson was the director of Marvel’s Doctor Strange he was a horror guy. He’s behind the awesome Exorcism of Emily Rose, which was Jennifer Carpenter’s breakout role, as well as Sinister and Deliver Us From Evil.
Back in 2008, Derrickson was attached to Paradise Lost, an adaptation of the epic 17th-century English poem by John Milton that revolves around the fall of man and the classic battle of good vs. evil, telling along the way the story of Satan/Lucifer, the angel who tries to overthrow God, and the temptation of Adam and Eve and their expulsion from the Garden of Eden.
This past week he took to Twitter to share concept art from the now defunct feature, which includes a look at Angel Lucifer, Rebel Lucifer, Fall Lucifer and, eventually, Satan.
Weirdly enough, the project moved forward in 2011 when Alex Proyas (Gods of Egypt, The Crow, Dark City) replaced Derrickson, and cast Diego Boneta and Camilla Belle (When a Stranger Calls) as Adam and Eve, respectively.
