The Exorcist
This one may surprise some of you since it’s not loaded with practical FX but the reason I’m putting it on here is because when it does use them, it uses them so well that you sometimes don’t even notice it. For example, did you know that Max von Sydow wasn’t actually that old in the film? However, the makeup and FX work done on him was so convincing and well thought out that it looks like he hasn’t aged a day since that film!
Oh, and the head spinning and vomit scene are incredible too. Just throwing that out there.
