‘Friday the 13th’ is Casting for a Spring Shoot
My belief is that you should never get excited about a movie until it’s actually filming. So much needs to happen from conception to shoot, and so much can go wrong. Still, Bloody Disgusting can exclusively confirm that casting is and has been underway on the next Friday the 13th, which is being produced by Platinum Dunes for Paramount Pictures with a target to release on Friday the 13th, October 2017.
In addition, our friends at F13Franchise are reporting that pre-production is currently underway in hot spot Conyers, Georgia, which is 24 miles East of Atlanta.
The reason that the production in Conyers is interesting is that Platinum Dunes is scheduled for shooting in that town starting in March and lasting through to May. That leads us to believe a good majority of filming should take place in that area. (On a side note, we tried to get the official start date, but were unable to get a solid confirmation.)
Another interesting bit of information about Conyers is that it is just under 12 miles away from Covington, Georgia where ‘Jason Lives: Friday The 13th Part VI’ was filmed!
The Crazies‘ Breck Eisner is directing the slasher with Prisoners‘ Aaron Guzikowski writing the script. The film is, according to producer Brad Fuller, “an origin-ish story.”
Fuller, along with his Platinum Dunes producing partner Andrew Form, recently revealed quite a bit more. Here, they acknowledge for the first time that it’s a special occasion: yes, this will be the 13th Friday the 13th.

‘Werwulf’ – First Look at Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Robert Eggers Werewolf Movie
The marketing campaign for Robert Eggers’ (The Witch, Nosferatu) new nightmare Werwulf has begun, and a brand new first look image was revealed over on Esquire today.
Check out your first look at Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Werwulf below.
Robert Eggers tells Esquire of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s leading character, “He’s a farmer. He’s a man who is cursed. It’s a story about a man who is cursed and is trying to find salvation through love. He’s a character who is haunted and in great pain.
“It’s a really brutal, unforgiving, merciless, grotesque world. More than ever, it’s mud and blood and dung and rain and pain and suffering. Aaron’s performance is incredibly harrowing.”
Set in 13th century England, Werwulf sees a mysterious creature stalk the land as local folklore becomes a terrifying reality. The film hits theaters on December 25 via Focus Features.
Robert Eggers recently teased, “It’s the darkest thing I’ve ever written. By far.”
“I promise you, Werwulf is on a whole other level,” Focus Features’ Peter Kujawski told Letterboxd. “No one has seen a movie that looks or feels like this movie does.”
Eggers directs from a script he penned with his The Northman co-writer Sjón.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Nosferatu), Lily-Rose Depp (Nosferatu), Willem Dafoe (The Lighthouse), Ralph Ineson (The Witch), and Bodhi Rae Breathnach (Hamnet) star.
