Dark Sky Films Sees the Light, Acquires ‘The Dark’ Out of Cannes

After premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival last month, MPI’s Dark Sky Films has acquired Justin P. Lange‘s The Dark, for release here in the States.

In the film, “Undead and hating it, young flesh-eater Mina (Nadia Alexander) haunts the woods surrounding her childhood home. When she befriends a physically abused boy, she must figure out why, for once, she isn’t feeling homicidal.

The first previously released clip below introduces us to Mina, who tells the boy a story about the legend of a flesh-eater who roams the woods. It’s a self-reflective moment that sets the stage for an unlikely friendship. The other shows an old man being spooked by something he sees…

Toby Nichols and Karl Markovics also star.
