Mads Mikkelsen Thriller ‘Arctic’ Sold After Cannes Screening

In Joe Penna’s Arctic, which made its World Premiere last night in the midnight section at the Cannes Film Festival, “Hannibal’s” Mads Mikkelsen plays a man stranded in the Arctic is finally about to receive his long-awaited rescue. However, after a tragic accident, his opportunity is lost. He must then decide whether to remain in the relative safety of his camp or to embark on a deadly trek through the unknown for potential salvation.

Post screening, Bleecker Street has acquired U.S. and select international rights for the survival drama, says Variety.

In this first ever clip provided to Bloody Disgusting, Mikkelsen is shown digging deep into the snow. When the camera pulls back it’s revealed that he’s been carving out a SOS for planes to see.
