Two of Quentin Tarantino’s Favorite Movies of 2019? ‘Crawl’ and ‘Doctor Sleep’!

Bloody Disgusting’s own “best horror of 2019” (and “best horror of the decade”) articles are coming soon, but in the meantime, let’s let Quentin Tarantino weigh in on that subject.

Erick Weber of the website Awards Ace tweets today that he spoke with Tarantino at an event last night and asked him to rattle off his favorite films of 2019, and two of the three movies he selected were horror movies! In addition to Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, Tarantino named Alexandre Aja’s Crawl and Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep as the best of 2019!

It’s no secret that Tarantino is a huge horror fan – he’s not ruling out his 10th and final film being a horror movie, for what that’s worth – but it’s pretty awesome to see him giving so much love to the genre this year. If you didn’t take our advice to go see Doctor Sleep on the big screen, perhaps Tarantino’s recommendation will be the final push you need to buy that ticket.

As for Crawl, the alligator horror flick is now available on DVD, Blu-ray and VOD!
