The magic returns in the teaser trailer for Practical Magic 2, which sees Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reprise their roles as witch sisters Sally and Gillian Owens.
Based on Alice Hoffman‘s 2021 novel The Book of Magic, the sequel to the 1998 supernatural romance opens in theaters September 11, 2026 via Warner Bros.
Practical Magic 2 returns to a world steeped in moonlit mischief and powerful ancestral magic, as the Owens sisters must confront the dark curse that threatens to unravel their family once and for all.
The sequel is described as “a must-see cinematic event of fun, magic and mayhem.”
Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing return as Aunt Jet and Aunt Frances, joined by Joey King and Maisie Williams as Sally’s daughters. Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod round out the cast.
Susanne Bier (Bird Box) directs from a script by Akiva Goldsman (I Am Legend), who co-wrote the original, and Georgia Pritchett (“Succession”).
Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman produce alongside Denise Di Novi (Practical Magic, Edward Scissorhands).
A Practical Magic stage musical is also in the works.
