Just under two years ago, I posted about London horror-inspired ambient metal band Merrin and their EP Doom Cinema. Since then, there hasn’t been much news from the trio…until a couple of weeks ago, that is.
On March 1st, the band released their new album, which goes by the name of Midnight Movies. The six-track album is once again inspired by all things horror, as evidenced by song titles such as “De Palma” and “Henry Kane”, the latter of whom is the creepy preacher from the second and third Poltergeist movies.
As before, I highly recommend giving these guys a shot and listening to what they have to offer as I think it’s incredibly fascinating and engaging music. Let it wash over you as you picture many of your favorite horror scenes and see just how wonderfully they go together.
