Outlast 2
Last month, indie developer Red Barrels turned to us to exclusively confirm the very exciting news that the studio’s next game is in fact a sequel to Outlast. We’ve seen a number of quality horror games over the last year, but Outlast had enough scares and gore to help it climb above the rest.
In our reveal, Red Barrels co-founder Philippe Morin offered some details on Outlast 2, saying it “will be a survival horror experience and it will take place in the same universe as Outlast, but it will have different characters and a different setting. We might go back to Mount Massive Asylum one day, but for now we have new ideas and themes we’d like to explore and we think we’re cooking up something special.”
That’s all of them. Or rather, not all of them — there’s also Daedalus, the State of Decay MMO, Human Element, etc. — but it’s a solid sampling of a few of the more mysterious horror games we have to look forward to in the coming year.
