System Shock 2
Further proof that most horror games reach their prime the second time around is the 1999 classic, System Shock 2. I’ve already spent a considerable amount of time celebrating this ridiculously good survival horror game here on Bloody Disgusting mostly because of its homicidal AI antagonist, SHODAN. I don’t often root for the bad guy/gal, but SHODAN is worthy of an exception.
Don’t let her welcoming smile fool you, SHODAN is a master manipulator with an intense disdain for humanity. Hiding underneath all those green and grey 1’s and 0’s is the cold, calculating face of a man-made psychopath. SHODAN will f**k you up.
