The Evil Within 2

It’s usually a cause for alarm when a publisher is unwilling to share sales figures for their games, so Bethesda’s silence regarding the success or failure of The Evil Within has me worried it didn’t live up to their forecast for it.
My guess is the game wasn’t a failure, maybe more of a lukewarm success, so Bethesda is keeping quiet simply because they have nothing to boast about. If that’s the case, an episodic sequel may be the way to go if Mikami and Friends decide to turn it into a series. One of the things I enjoyed the most about it was how varied it was. The varied environments and enemies made each chapter look completely different from the last. That would make turning it into an episodic game way easier.
As much as I’d like to see another horror game from Shinki Mikami, I’m also alright with The Evil Within being a one-off. It was a freaky, gory ride through hell and back that left me satisfied. A sequel might not even be necessary.
