Go Over-the-Top

I’ve touched on this already, but that was more about the humor. This is about everything else.
If this game is going to show us a more fun side to the series, the action needs to reflect that. This means a level of bombastic combat that makes me giddy with joy every time I see a wall of rotting faces, because I know gory fun is about to ensue.
Dying Light has this, but the stale blueprints — I probably used a quarter of the ones I found during the 40+ hours I spent in Harran — weren’t especially interesting. Too many modded weapons looked the same after I used a blueprint on them, so I’d often re-use the same one over and over again because I knew it was effective.
I want Dead Island 2 to make me want to experiment with its weapons. To have fun and to actually want to take the time to see what fits my playstyle. Unfortunately, how they go about accomplishing this depends entirely on how Yager is handling the weapons and loot. Until we know more about that, all I can do is speculate.
