Slasher Vol. I: Summer Camp
I was worried Summer Camp wouldn’t make its 2015 release until Wes Keltner, the founder of its developer, Gun, promptly laid those worries to rest.
Like the competition, Summer Camp will also let players choose between stepping into the muddied boots of a mindless murderer, or from an assortment of teens. When the Friday the 13th game was first announced, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who thought it’d be neat if Kane Hodder was somehow involved. I can’t say that I’m at all bummed about what actually happened, because rather than bringing Jason to life again, Hodder will be making Summer Camp even better.
That must’ve stung whoever it is that’s working on Jason’s big debut.
Seeing as the core concept, the foundation, that supports both of these games is more or less identical, it’ll be interesting to see which one does it best. Friday may have the branding and, I’m assuming, a larger budget, but we still don’t know which developer is behind it. With Summer Camp, we can take some comfort in knowing that it’s coming from a quality studio. Also, Kane Hodder.
