Chemical Burn “My Weakness” Video Premiere (Exclusive)

We’ve teamed up with Bay Area thrash band Chemical Burn to bring you the exclusive music video premiere for “My Weakness”, which comes from their new album Raining Anvils.

The video shows the band performing inside of a warehouse while a brief story gets interspersed showing a woman snapping against a man. What’s cool here is that the band used tactics from the Evil Dead films to help them create this video! Check it out below as well as an exclusive quote and photos.

You can purchase Raining Anvils via the band’s official store.

Bassist/vocalist Mike Garncia writes:

The song, ‘My Weakness’ is about an ever growing trend of domestic violence in the news – something that happens far too often, silently behind closed doors, and has now been brought to light by the recent celebrity scandals. In the video we follow a couple on a date that goes from bad to worse.

Making the video was a blast. Mike Sloat is a kick-ass director and he has the best crew. The chemistry between the actors was great. By pure chance, they happened to both be from France and did the scenes in French. We had a super limited budget for FX, and built a bonfire indoors and had to hand-make the squibs (the little explosive device that creates the effect of blood shooting out of a bullet wound) ourselves. I found the blood recipe used from The Evil Dead films. None of us have any pyrotechnic expertise, so we filled condoms with fake blood, heavily duct taped it to the body of our actor, super-glued a washer tied to a line of fishing wire and yanked on it like hell when the director yelled ‘action!’ We went through the whole box of condoms because even a sneeze would pop them prematurely and we fucked up every take, and finally got our shot on our very last condom!
