With all they hype surrounding the Alien universe lately, it’s no surprise that fans are eager to know how things are going to proceed. And just recently, we broke news that the wait for Neill Blomkamp’s take on an Alien film was on hold until Ridley Scott could finish a sequel to Prometheus. Well, it seems that this is indeed the plan as Scott has confirmed that precisely such a sequel is the next project on his plate!
In a recent interview, when asked how he felt about the date change for his upcoming film The Martian, Scott told Empire, “I was already on to my next movie! I was starting to look for locations for my next movie, which is ‘Prometheus 2.’”
Per our recent scoop: If all goes well, Blomkamp will likely shoot Alien 5 sometime in 2017, ahead of a release the following year. So that gives fans a one-two punch of Scott’s Prometheus 2 in 2017 and Blomkamp’s own Alien film in 2018.
