Our camp marathon has turned out to be a look into films with horrific production and/or release histories, hasn’t it? First, we looked at the cobbled-together Friday the 13th “film”Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, then we suffered through the werewolf/Hollywood satire mishmash that is Wes Craven’s Cursed. Now, we’re traveling to Pflugerville, Texas so dine with the Slaughter family in Kim Henkel‘s Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (aka the one with Renée Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey).
In the fourth entry in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, Jenny (Renée Zellweger) and her friends run into Leatherface (Robert Jacks) and the rest of the Slaughter family on prom night and mayhem ensues. Pizzas are forgotten. Secret societies are introduced. Leatherface is in drag. It’s pandemonium!
Joining us for this very stupid ride is Stephanie Crawford, co-host of The Screamcast podcast and columnist over at Dread Central, who went above and beyond by watching both the Theatrical and Director’s cuts of the film.
