The Haley Joel Osment resurgence continues as The Sixth Sense star will guest in the latest revival of “The X-Files”, scheduled to premiere next year on Fox. Deadline says that no character details are being revealed, but Osment will feature heavily in the “Skinner”–centric (played by series regular Mitch Pileggi) episode teased at New York Comic-Con. Osment also appeared in Kevin Smith’s Tusk and its spinoff Yoga Hosers.
EW recently previewed the first three episodes…
“After episode one delves into the Cigarette Smoking Man’s (William B. Davis) backstory and apparent family ties to Mulder, the second hour opens with a time jump to put distance between Mulder and Scully (David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson) and the events of the premiere. And episode three is a darkly comedic hour, penned by Carter, focusing on doubles and doppelgängers.”
They continued, “But beyond the humor, the larger mythology of The X-Files — like the fallout from Scully’s abduction and the chip that was implanted in her neck — continues to shape Mulder and Scully’s world.”
Most of Season 11 will be devoted to “monster of the week” episodes.
Mitch Pileggi, Annabeth Gish and Barbara Hershey are confirmed for the new season.
