Psychedelic Horror Awaits in Upcoming Survival Horror Game ‘Strobophagia’; Releasing October 28

Published

EDM and horror? Honestly, the last time I thought about something like that was the rave scene in Freddy Vs. Jason, or the opening scene to Blade. Nevertheless, it’s untapped potential for video games, so that’s exactly what Swedish developer Green Tile Digital is doing with their upcoming game Strobophagia: Rave Horror.

Launching on Steam on October 28, Strobophagia has a free demo up on its Steam page right now for you to try. The story for the game is simple: As a raver in search of the ultimate freedom of expression, you find yourself at the Headless Rave Festival. The festival is a carefree carnival of drunkenness, fluorescent body paint and electronic tunes set in the middle of a dense forest. Of course, as these things go, when the event’s organizers suddenly announce that admission comes at the cost of one’s own life, you’ve got to get out of there. Unfortunately, you’ve also got to deal with something sinister lurking in the shadows.

To make it out alive, you’ll have to resort to solving puzzles using the in-game smartphone mechanic that helps you locate points of interest, as well as consult the numerous attendees for help.

“The team at Green Tile Digital has been eating, sleeping, and breathing rave culture ever since we began work on Strobophagia,” says Ben Clarke, CEO of Green Tile Digital. “We can’t wait for horror and EDM fans to put on a pair of headphones and immerse themselves in the kaleidoscope of horrors we’ve prepared for them.”
