[Video] Console Versions of ‘Chernobylite’ Pushed Back to September 28, New Accolades Trailer Released

The Farm 51’s Chernobylite (read our review of the PC version) will be under wraps for a few more weeks from its original launch date. As stated in a new press release, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the survival horror RPG will be pushed back from their original September 7 release date to September 28.

The reasoning behind the delay according to publisher All in! Games is due to “unforeseen issues with the console build”, according to All in! Games CEO Piotr Żygadło. “We want to make sure we always deliver projects that are in excellent shape and pushing Chernobylite’s console release date back a few weeks will allow us to accomplish that. We appreciate everyone’s patience while we take the time to get this right.”

In the meantime, The Farm 51 has put together an accolades trailer to keep the buzz going for the game.

Chernobylite will be available digitally on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One storefronts for $29.99 USD. As well fans eager to get their hands on a physical version of Chernobylite for PlayStation 4 will be able to purchase a copy from their local retailers in North America on September 28th and throughout Europe and the UK on October 1st for an SRP of $34.99 / €34.99 / £29.99. The physical retail edition of Chernobylite will feature a detailed physical map of the Exclusion Zone, digital postcards, a digital artbook ‘The Art of Chernobylite’, and more.

‘El Paso, Elsewhere’ – LaKeith Stanfield Starring in Adaptation of Monster Hunting Video Game

Published

Last year’s monster hunting shooter El Paso, Elsewhere is headed to the screen, with THR reporting that LaKeith Stanfield (Haunted Mansion) will star in the live action film adaptation.

Stanfield will also produce the film alongside Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

THR notes in today’s report, “There is no writer or director, as the project is still being packaged in the hopes of finding a studio home. The package is seen as buzzy, as it is a video game adaptation, a bustling genre thanks to titles such as The Last of Us, the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and the most recent hit, Fallout.”

In the upcoming movie version of El Paso, Elsewhere, “Recovering from a toxic relationship, James Savage (LaKeith Stanfield) confronts both his inner demons and enigmatic ex-girlfriend, Janet, before she executes a world-ending ritual. James navigates her reality-bending universe of ethereal monsters while facing the truth of his own addictions and skewed sense of self-worth. James learns that the only route to love is through healing.”

Developer Strange Scaffold’s El Paso, Elsewhere was released this past September.

Aaron Boehm wrote in his 4-star review here on Bloody Disgusting, “Much like its inspiration Max Payne, and other games in Remedy’s catalog, there’s a clear vision that unites every frame of this game, making for an experience that both reignites a classic action subgenre and forges an identity all its own. Few games have a better elevator pitch than El Paso, Elsewhere, and it’s awesome to see it live up to those expectations with style and heart.”
