Capcom’s ‘Exoprimal’ Could See ‘Dino Crisis’ Content If There’s Enough Fan Demand

Published

on

Despite Capcom’s Resident Evil franchise doing gangbusters, fans of their Survival Horror output obviously want Capcom to give a bit of focus to the neglected Dino Crisis series. And when it comes to their recently-released multiplayer FPS Exoprimal, Capcom is interested in giving fans some Dino Crisis love. Providing that fans show enough interest, of course.

In an interview with Siliconera, Exoprimal director Takuro Hiraoka was asked if we could eventually see Dino Crisis content in Exoprimal. After all, Exoprimal does feature a red-haired woman that many fans were hoping was Dino Crisis‘ Regina, but sadly that wasn’t the case. And the fact that Street Fighter 6 is doing a crossover with Exoprimal.

Hiraoka stated that Leviathan, the AI program in Exoprimal‘s story that among other things, collects combat data, is the type of entity that “will go to any means” to collect this data. “If there’s enough demand from players, Leviathan very well could make [Dino Crisis content] a reality.”

While it’s great that Capcom is acknowledging the series, it’s not exactly what fans really want. The Dino Crisis has been dormant since 2003’s Dino Crisis 3 for the original Xbox, and there are developers who are doing spiritual successors, as well as fan-made remakes. Heck, we even wrote about how it’s prime time for Capcom to bring the series back.

One would hope that Capcom would show the same love that they’ve been giving the Resident Evil series to Regina and company. But, we’ll just have to see.

Exoprimal is currently available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

WB Games and Rocksteady didn’t exactly have the best result with Batman: Arkham VR, but publisher Oculus Studios and developer Camouflaj (who worked on Marvel’s Iron Man VR) are looking to give it a go with Batman: Arkham Shadow for the Meta Quest 3.

Launching “late 2024“, there’s not much info on the game at the moment, though via the Summer Game Fest X account, we’ll be seeing more from Arkham Shadow when Summer Game Fest rolls around on June 7. The announcement trailer for Batman: Arkham Shadow does provide a little teaser with its description, stating “Gotham City is in danger. And you’re the only one who can save it.”.
