Inspired by the Worldbuilding of ‘Bloodborne’, ‘Black Heaven: A Necromantic Dating Sim’ Arrives Next Month on Steam [Trailer]

Published

on

Fans of DreadXP’s Sucker for Love looking for another fantasy/horror visual novel to devour should check out indie developer Occult Triangle Lab upcoming game, Black Heaven: A Necromantic Dating Sim. Black Heaven also has a demo available via itch.io, with a planned October 21st release on Steam.

Unlike Sucker for Love, Black Heaven has a bit of Bloodborne in it, with you being a former scholar, and one of the last survivors of a plague that’s destroyed the world you used to know. After nearly succumbing to the plague itself, your life is saved by a mysterious necromancer named No-Eyes, who offers you the chance to escape death forever and relive your past. All that he asks of you are the souls of your former classmates. Returning to the ruined academy where you spent your happiest days, you’re haunted by the pleasant memories of your old friends, and the line between memory and madness becomes frighteningly blurred.

There’s more to Black Heaven than just inspired lore. The game features a “Fractal Madness” mechanic where if you attempt to undo your decisions in the game by reloading a save, Black Heaven will actually change the narrative and soundtrack to warped, nightmarish versions. Save scumming is obviously discouraged.

After its biggest update ever back in January, the time has finally arrived for Lovely Hellplace and DreadXP’s Dread Delusion to exit Early Access. The horror-tinged open world RPG will leave the Steam Early Access service on May 14, and has a new release date trailer to celebrate.

Dread Delusion has been in Steam Early Access since June 2022, with developer Lovely Hellplace continuously updating the retro-inspired and exploration-centric RPG with new content and improvements. With the upcoming 1.0 release, Dread Delusion will be adding a new realm called the Underlands, as well as new towns, new dungeons, new quests, new endgame content, cursed enemies, countless pages of dialogue and lore, and much more. More info on the launch update will be revealed as the 1.0 release approaches.

Dread Delusion will also be part of this year’s LudoNarraCon festival on Steam, which will also include a 20% discount from May 9th to the 16th.

Inspired by classic RPGs of the 2000s, Dread Delusion takes place in a broken world. Its surface seethes with an undead curse, while humanity clings to flying continents in the sky. From mushroom forests to undead mausoleums, these strange places and their denizens await you. You must find a way to mend this fractured world , or if you choose, seek power and profit for yourself.
