Sure, Paramount Pictures threw the first blow by putting Paranormal Activity 2 up against Lionsgate’s Saw VII 3D. Yep, they even hired Saw VI director Kevin Greutert to get behind the helm. Yet, neither action called for the low blow that was delivered by Twisted Pictures when they exercised an option to force Greutert back to direct the seventh Saw film. Greutert went kicking and screaming leaving Paramount back in the hunt for a director. It was announced today that Kip Williams (Tod Williams) will be getting behind the camera for PA 2. “We are thrilled to have Kip working with us,” producer Oren Peli said. “He is the guy we want at the helm, because he knows exactly what we want to deliver to the fans.” Forget H2 vs The Final Destination, on October 22 we’re going to see a brutal, bloody battle between Lionsgate and Paramount that’s not only going to be great for the genre, but also damn entertaining.
