Oh Case 39, you little bastard child you. Running a website, I get super excited every time a movie finally hits theaters – not just because I finally get to see it, but also because I can finally stop talking about it. It takes a toll on the brain constantly reporting on the same movie day in, and day out. When a movie gets shelved, it becomes the bane of my existence. I have to report on the international trailers, screenings, and other mumbo jumbo, while everyone here in the States keeps asking “WTF?” After cock-teasing us for nearly three years now, Paramount is locking down an October 1 date for the Christian Alvart (Pandorum) thriller that stars a then-young Jodelle Ferland (Silent Hill), a super gnarly Renee Zellweger, and Bradley Cooper (probably the sole reason this is finally getting a release). Case 39 centers on an idealistic social worker (Zellweger) who saves an abused 10-year-old girl from her parents only to discover that things are not as they appear.
