A+ journalism over at Empire who got one of the Coen brothers to spill the beans on a potential visit to the land of horror.
In to talk about his Oscar-nominated new movie True Grit, director Ethan Coen suggested that the next effort from himself and Joel might just be a horror movie! When asked if he’d consider ever doing a full-on horror, as opposed to merely dabbling in the likes of Blood Simple, E. Coen replied, “Funny you should ask, yes, we’re working on a couple of scripts now, one of which it would be fair to call a full-on horror movie. Frances McDormand is the monster.” McDormand – Ethan’s sister-in-law – worked with the brothers on Fargo and Burn After Reading.
Obviously the last statement could have been a joke, but Empire declares an authentic tone when speaking on the script. What do you guys think of this? The Cohen Brothers are responsible for amazing filmmaking such as The Big Lebowski, No Country for Old Men and the hilarious inside joke that was A Serious Man.
